Controlling HOT Heater

Thinking of buying the Hot Heater Controller and Backplate and would like to know. Can I control the HOT Heater Backplate without connecting the controller to an EVC2SX? Is the controller that comes with the backplate can function as a standalone, or do you absolutely need the EVC2SX?

Hello Marc,

By default the backplate will regulate to keep the surface temperature at 50°C. If you want to change this set-point you need EVC2SX, but it will still work and regulate the temperature without it.
