EVC2 Beta Software

Hi,

Sorry for dumb question but cant find it anywhere and rly wanna buy EVC, does EVC support IC uP9511R ? I want to test evc with my 3090ftw3 but cant find any info if evc support this IC, also its very hard to find datasheet for uP9511R- specifically R version, can u maybe help me Elmor ?ย

Hello ๐Ÿ™‚

It can be used with the VMOD header for voltage control and monitoring. There's unfortunately no I2C interface on uP9511 for further controls or monitoring. There's further information here on how to connect it: https://www.elmorlabs.com/index.php/forum/topic/evc2-vmod1-header-tutorial/

Nice thanks for answer, sad to hear theres no i2c interface :/ btw can u help with the power balancing issue on FTW3 cards ? just asking Im sure youre busy enough as youre but if youre willing..

What do you want to do with power balancing? I suggest you jump into the Discord server and I can try to help you in real time

Hi Elmor,

is there any plan to support the IR3563B?

I want to do an epower from a dead 280X and EVC2 support would be handy.

Thank you in advance ๐Ÿ™‚

You can try with this version, should be similar to the other IR356x controllers: https://1drv.ms/u/s!Atmpv-6qHr_6y4BUc1CBUDKWpD-C4A?e=hMzibe

Thank you very much. I'm going to order EVC2 and as soon as it arrives, I'll test it.

Hello Elmor,

I recently ordered a PNY card, using the NCP81610 pwm controller -> https://www.onsemi.com/products/power-management/dc-dc-controllers-converters-regulators/controllers/ncp81610

I was eager to start my modding escapades, and just now ordered your EVC2SX. Damn, to late I realised it doesnโ€™t support that pwm controller yet. Any chance you can add support for it perhaps? It is quite common on many cards nowadays, and has an I2C bus.

Looking forward to your feedback.

Cheers,

Beano

Hello Phillip. I can add support for this controller, however the key reason why it has not been done yet is because this controller according to its datasheet does not support voltage control over I2C. It does offer some adjustments like switching frequency and OCP/OVP control and monitoring of output voltage/current. Let me know if you still want me to add a profile for it with this level of functionality.

An alternative method for voltage control might be to use the EVC2SX VMOD header and through that adjust the voltage at the controller REFIN pin which is the voltage setting for the output. More details on that further down in this thread: https://www.elmorlabs.com/index.php/forum/topic/evc2-vmod1-header-tutorial/
